Lovely and pastoral pair of art deco appliques in bronze and molded-pressed glass tulips signed schneider that measure 26 cm in height, 18 cm in projection. And each weighs 700 grams. While most lighting appliances of the 1930s develop an ornamental aesthetic, others rarer open a semantic field.

This application pair undoubtedly meets this second category. To understand its meaning, it will be necessary to focus on the stylized decoration of a glassware that describes a tormented sky, fractured by lightning, the sun veiled by clouds. It is in this time suspended that a bird placed on the plate of the appliance waits for the storm to pass. Some will see it as an allegory of calm before the storm, that of a particular era marked by multiple crises. Appliance mounts are in very good condition. One of them is struck on the back of the ad monogram (photo 6), without it being formally possible to identify the tan. The moulded frosted glass tulips are heavy and thick, also in very good condition, with some ginnings of use.

They were produced by the epinay-sur-seine glassware of schneider charles. They are signed in relief in the decor (photo 5), a signature difficult to perceive but present. Equipped with nickel-plated brass sockets with bayonet b22, these appliques attach to the wall thanks to a side bar placed in the inner face of each (photo 10). They have been rewired with a new wire, they are ready to be laid and illuminated. Any total or partial reproduction of the text and/or images of this ad is strictly reserved.
