M. LEDUCQ (1879-1955) Bookends Sculpture Geese Swans Signed Art Deco Spelter

  
Elegant and superb pair of bookends in pewter representing two majestic swans. LEDUCQ for the French sculptor M. Estimated period: early 20th century. The pewter has a very beautiful green-gray patina with shades of brown, bronze which is well preserved. One has 2 small dents on the head, nothing serious. Time has taken its toll. Beautiful representation especially of their heads and postures.

The terraces are made of black marble. Both have slight chips in the corners at the back. Total dimensions: 17.5 x 8 x 17cm. Swans alone: 15.2 x 6.3 x 14cm. Total weight: 2.713 kg.
