This vase from the mid-1930s embodies all the characteristics of Art Deco, both in its motifs, shape, and the quality of the bronze. A very lovely and rare decorative piece, in perfect condition. Louis Dage, initially based in Antony (Paris region), partnered with Jean de la Fontinelle, and later with Eugène Val. He left Antony to settle in Saint-Sever in the Landes. He was awarded the title of Best Craftsman of France in 1924 and contributed to the decoration of the ocean liner Normandie in the early 1930s.
Several signatures can be found on and under the base, as well as on the cast iron ring.
