Exceptional bronze sculpture with multiple patinas by Romain de TIRTOFF (known as ERTÉ), a famous artist considered the father of Art Deco. Painter, designer, draftsman, and sculptor, Romain de TIRTOFF was born on November 23, 1892, in an aristocratic family in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

He immigrated to France where he created for 80 years in all areas of artistic and cultural life. The pseudonym ERTÉ is derived from his initials R. IMPORTANT: This bronze comes from ERTÉ's personal collection passed down to his heir Serge LEEMAN, and then by descent. It is a rare "artist's proof".

In addition to its superb decorative aspect, this bronze has always remained the property of ERTÉ and then Serge LEEMAN, which gives it additional historical and sentimental importance! Bronze with brown and gold patina. (Note a scratch on the base, anecdotal). Signed ERTÉ on the base.
