Bookends Animal Sculpture Geese Signed M. FONT Art Deco

  

Superb and elegant pair of bookends in regule representing two birds, two very beautiful geese from the Art Deco period signed M. Font for the French sculptor Marti Font (20th century). The signatures are found on each of the geese, at the back. Estimated period: first half of the 20th century. Very good condition, slight signs of time on the dark grey patina.

Beautiful representation especially of their heads, wings, legs and above all a very beautiful posture. The terraces are in marble portor black veined with orange and white. They are in excellent condition. Total dimensions (bird and terrace): 14.5 x 8.5 x 16cm. Total weight: 2.814 kg.
