Art Deco Marble Ashtray: Nude Woman in Bronze, signed by Joe Descomps

  

Splendid marble ashtray with a bronze sculpture of a nude woman, signed by Joe Descomps (1869-1950). It measures 18cm in length and 12cm in width. The signature is engraved in the marble. One might think that there is a flaw in the marble, but it appears to be a natural vein. When running a finger over it, there are no rough edges on the ashtray, indicating that it has not been broken or repaired.

I am unsure if it was originally made this way or if the vein became more pronounced over time. Careful shipping or the option for personal pickup in Paris is available.
